Breed Information

The Miniature Poodle is a smaller version of the Standard Poodle. They have a small to medium sized frame and their most distinctive feature is their soft and curly coat.

SIZE

These dogs have a height of about 28-38 cm and weigh an average of 7-8 kg. Being the small dogs that they are, they can be perfect for apartment living and living in small spaces.

COAT

The coat of this dog is fine, frizzy and wooly, and will not shed. The most common coat colours are white and black but they also come in grey, brown, apricot, or red. 

CHARACTER & TEMPERAMENT

The Miniature Poodle is a sensitive, intelligent, lively, playful, proud, and elegant dog, which makes it one of the most popular pets worldwide. They bond closely with family and make a great companion. They are bouncy, alert, and eager to play and are more energetic and more likely to bark than the Standard Poodle. They get along well with children, other dogs and pets. Mini Poodles will announce the arrival of guests, but remain friendly toward them and everyone else in general.

CARE

Due to the wooly coat, it is recommended to have your Miniature Poodle professionally groomed once every 6 - 8 weeks. It is also suggested that you brush your dog's hair at home every few days.

TRAINING

Training this dog is a fairly simple process because they are highly intelligent. They quickly understand what is expected of them, and have the ability to learn a wide variety of tricks and games.

ACTIVITY

This dog enjoys daily walks, lots of outdoor play and activities, as well as frolicking in the water. Without the required amount of activity and attention from their master, Miniature Poodles may have the tendency to be bored, restless and sometimes destructive.
